Tis the Season!

Now that Thanksgiving has came and gone let the Christmas shopping begin! Last Christmas we were expecting Peyton and were so anxious for this Christmas to get here. Well, now it's here and we are more ready than ever for Christmas morning! Of course she will not be old enough to open her own gifts until next year, but we are still so excited! We haven't put the lights up outside yet, but sometime this week they will make their way up to the roof:) However, our Christmas tree is up! Peyton couldn't keep her eyes off of it!Oooh, can I touch it?Peyton's new "thing" is biting her lower lip. She hasn't gotten a rash, but I wouldn't doubt it if one shows up because it seems like she is always doing this. Sometimes she makes cute smacking and sucking noises too.She also loves to play with our faces.Peyton also celebrated her first Thanksgiving! She had sweet potatoes and squash for dinner (not homemade, Gerber, of course). Poor girl...we had two fantastic dinners with each of our families and she just had to sit and watch! I would have to say my favorites were the sweet potatoes at Kenny's parents and the cajun flavored turkey my dad fried! Yum! I also made a homemade apple pie for the first time! Hopefully it was good! I wouldn't know because I made it for Kenny's boss. He lives right around the corner from Kenny's parents so we stopped by for a minute and I wanted to give him and his family something because he such great guy and his family is nice too! I just need to work on the crust:) But it smelled good! One happy Cowboys family on Thanksgiving! Too bad something caught Peyton's eye, but it's still a cute family picture, I think!Kenny at his flag-football tournament this weekend. They ended up 3-2 for the day, but it is definitely better than they have done the last few tournaments. They actually made it to the playoffs this time!:) Look at those moves!:)She was enjoying watching her daddy tear it up on the field! We were there pretty much all day so after a while she was tired.
Luckily they lost or they would have had to play in this! It started sprinkling when we were leaving! Here are some random pictures from the last couple of weeks...Hanging out with Auntie Kel watching Sunday night football. She is so cute!My dad put his car into a car show last weekend and since Kenny was practicing for a TurkeyBowl that night, Peyton and I went down to see all the other cars. Here's my dad's car! Here is what P did while at the car show.Me and P! I love this little girl so much!I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! And speaking of being thankful, I am very thankful for everything in my life! Our wonderful families, great friends, and of course our healthy baby girl!

Our weekend!

Friday night was Matt's last football game:( They lost in the first round of playoffs, but they had such a great year! Matt played great all year and we are so proud of him! When Peyton wasn't watching Uncle Matt tear it up the field, she kept herself entertained with her toy.All bundled up keeping mama warm!Tired little girl...it was way past her bedtime. We also gave Peyton something new...squash! We think she liked it!I think she is really getting the hang of this whole eating off a spoon thing! We can't give it to her fast enough sometimes:)Mmmmm! Daddy that was good can I please have some more? She fell asleep on Kenny like this while he was on the computer and I just thought it was too cute not to post.Saturday night we out to eat at Outback Steakhouse! We picked up Jake and Katie, then Sasha and Matt met us there along with other friends from softball, my sister and her boyfriend, and some of their friends. We had a great time and there ended up being 15 of us! We dropped Peyton off at Rod and Theresa's and they had a great time with her! She got to hang out with Paige too! They found out that she really likes peas too...I guess she ate the whole thing! She was crashed when we picked her up!
Our first date night without the baby!Sunday, before the Cowboys game, we had a birthday party at the park! This is Peyton's 2nd party with her cousins! She saw a lot of people who either haven't seen her yet or it's just been a couple of months! Hanging out with Great Grandma Hill! She made a new friend on the slides! That afternoon during halftime, Rod and Theresa surprised me with a Birthday cake to celebrate my birthday, which was on Monday. They are so great!Monday, Peyton and I went to Target and Kohl's then went home to do some laundry. Kenny got home fairly early and him and Peyton gave me my gift. Kenny said he was getting ready to go into Kohl's to get a picture frame, but saw my truck there so he went to Bed Bath and Beyond instead lol:) He also got me a Victoria's Secret and Children's Place gift card in a really cute mommy card that he signed from Peyton. He's so cute...even if he does procrastinate;) Later that afternoon we went to Hailey's soccer game at her school then went to my parents' for Monday Night Football and celebrate our birthday!
A few months ago Kelli got hair extensions that are super easy to clip in and out and they look Awesome! I loved them and a couple times she put them in my hair when we were hanging out at my parents. Well, she knows that I would never pay that much money for them (I am not cheap, just frugal haha) anyway, she got me some! She put them in my hair, but kinda fast so you can see my real hair in the picture, but they look so good when they are in and styled right! It's real hair so you can color them too! They are so FUN and Kenny doesn't like long hair, but he actually likes these...maybe he's just being nice though:) Happy Birthday Kel! I love you and hope you had a GREAT birthday! And thanks for the extensions!

Our baby girl is a BIG girl!

The last week or so I have been a little concerned if Peyton has been getting enough to eat. I wasn't sure if I was nursing long enough so I increased that time but even then she would start to get hungry again only a couple of hours later. I know not every baby is the same, but what I gathered from "the books" and the internet this was a little too often to be eating when I was almost sure she was getting at least 5-6 ounces. I say "the books" because I look up everything and always refer to what the books "say" when I talk to other moms about what they did with their babies. For example, did every mom put rice cereal in their child's bottles?? Because that is a huge no-no! According to the "books" lol! Can you tell I am a "first-timer" those of you who already have babies? :) I would have to say we have only ignored one rule from our pediatrician and that is letting Peyton sleep with us. Anyway, I came across something that said a baby her age shouldn't have more than 32 oz of fluid a day! This whole time I thought you just feed them however often and however much! Well, Saturday I was talking to my cousin who has 2 kids and she said that her son started to eat cereal when he was 3 months! So I figured I would wait until Monday just to make sure it was a good idea to start Peyton on cereal or see what the doc recommended at her 4 month check-up. Well, he said to go right ahead! So Peyton and I went to Target and got all the essentials for her first meal! We think she liked it!I'm ready mom and dad! Hurry and give me some of that food!Let me help you mom because you are just going too slow for me!Her appointment went very well! As we were walking in, the girl said "wow, she is getting tall" and we have been thinking the same thing lately. Her stats: she is 25 and a 1/4 inches tall, weighs 14lbs 9oz, and I forgot what her head measured, but he said she looks great, once again! She was smiling at the doctor and talking to him. (I think she likes his accent-it sounds like "thot ees pawfectly nawmal" when saying "that is perfectly normal" while dragging out the first syllable in a word...He's really nice though) Next thing I know I am holding her poor little arms and whispering in her ear in hopes to soothe her from the terrible needle that is being pushed against her will into her thigh:( She had to get 2 shots which is still the most horrible thing for me! She was a trooper and only cried for maybe 20 seconds. The weekend went fast, but they usually do. Friday night Matt had a game against a really good team. The Bulldogs lost, but they put up a great fight! It was more of the coaches fault than the way the team played. But they still made the playoffs so we have at least one more game! Saturday, Hailey had a softball tournament and they won it all again! I am so happy that the weather is cooling down enough during the days so we are able to start going to the tournaments again. We have missed the last few months because they were just too hot during the day to take Peyton. It is just perfect in the shade now though! Sunday, Matt and Sasha came over then we headed to Kenny's parents' for the Cowboys game. Monday, Hailey had a soccer game for school and then we headed over to my parents for pizza and Monday Night Football! I may have lost fantasy, once again, but the Cowboys are looking good! And Peyton was excited about them winning too! Her jersey is too big so for now a white shirt and navy blue flower will have to serve as her team spirit:) Showin' some love for the QC Ladycats!Hanging out with Auntie Kel at the softball fields! Me and Papa!Me and Grandma! Poor girl was exhausted!Looks like she is picking my nose haha!Hope everyone has a GREAT week!

In other news...

It's official...My Fantasy team finally won! I know, 8 weeks into the season and still no wins! Until now that is! I actually played Kenny's team and he is in first place! He had one player last night, but I was up by quite a bit, I just didn't want to jinx myself:) I was kinda hoping that I wouldn't win because I probably don't even have a chance to make the playoffs and he could use the win more than I could...We'll see though! Every single one of my roster positions scored a touchdown except my kicker:) And if Roy Williams wouldn't have gotten hurt a few weeks ago, I probably never would have gotten lucky enough to pick up Miles Austin! And the Cowboys won! Did I just really post something that wasn't Peyton related? Haha I love that little girl and I love that she consumes every second of our lives now! (You should know I can't post anything that doesn't refer to her at least once)

My Little Ladybug

I had my heart set on Peyton being a Pea Pod for Halloween! I got online and I wanted to actually make her one, thinking it would be cheaper and not too difficult. But I ended up finding one at Target for $15! I was so excited and rushed to get it the next morning! When I first purchased it, almost two months ago, I bought the 3-6 months thinking it would be perfect by Halloween since she would be almost 4 months. Well, a couple of days before Halloween we tried it on her and it was too small! I went the next day to get the 6-9 months, but they didn't have anymore, of course! I was bummed, but I did find another cute costume in her size, plus it was already clearanced! So we saved a few bucks!
PopPop gave me my first candy bucket! He had to keep reminding daddy it was MY candy! Mmmm, what do we have in here? I think I will save this for later! What else can I find that I am not allowed to have yet? What a doll! We love her so much!We weren't home for Halloween, but I still wanted to carve a pumpkin! After we went "Trick or Treating" at Kenny's parents', we went to my parents' house. All the guys played poker and the wives took the kids to a haunted house. Peyton and I were the purse watchers and waited in the arcade. Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!
