Swim Lessons!

We put Peyton in swim lessons and it's amazing how much she has learned! I was so excited when I found a groupon for $29 and normally it would have been $93! She's had four lessons and we just signed her up for two more months! The first day she HATED IT! I mean cried the ENTIRE 30 MINUTES! Clung to me for dear life, and wanted nothing to do with it. The second time was surprisingly much better and she only cried for about 5 minutes total. The third lesson, she was crying because we couldn't get into the water fast enough! They do the same thing each lesson for the most part and she is doing GREAT! They always bring out a big foam thing and she climbs up and sits on it like she owns the joint! She loves it!

Meet the Flintstones!

We went as the Flintstones for Halloween! My friend Brittany gave me the idea and we were able to do it pretty cheap too. I don't remember the last time I dressed for Halloween, but with Peyton getting older I want her to remember it. I was going to make our costumes...I figured it couldn't be that hard, but we found a Fred Flintstone costume at Target for $20. And actually got 10% off because there was a small hole towards the bottom. You never would have noticed, but I figured I might as well ask. Then I made my Wilma dress out of a king size pillow case and my necklace out of foam balls from the dollar store. For Peyton's costume I bought a green shirt at Wal-Mart on clearance and glued black felt triangles to it. I think we spent maybe $32 total...We went to my sister's Saturday night and had just a few friends over. Peyton slept for a bit at first then was ready to party when she woke up!

On Halloween I helped at a face painting booth at a Trunk or Treat at the park. Kenny and Peyton went down there and Peyton had a great time! My sister, Thomas, his mom, Tommi, and my parents met them there too. She got a lot of candy and had so much fun! Our costumes were too cold to wear outside so we ended up dressing like cowgirls. I borrowed most of my stuff from Kelli and I had everything at home for Peyton's.

Our Anniversary!

Kenny and I celebrated our SIX YEAR ANNIVERSARY this last weekend! Saturday afternoon we dropped Peyton off with my parents after her swim lessons and then headed to Talking Stick Resort! We have a family friend who works there for special events and was able to get us a room, even though when we looked online to book something last week there was nothing available. He definitely hooked us up! We had a PHENOMENAL room! The view was outstanding, and it was so clean that I actually walked around barefoot! For those of you who do not know...I am a little germaphobic when it comes to hotels. Like I bring my own blankets, wear flip flops in the shower and never let my feet touch the carpet! OCD? Maybe a little :) Anyway, so we got there, checked in and headed to our room. Our card said Room #3341 and how the lady wrote it, made us assume 3rd floor room 341. We get to room #341 and our key card didn't work. We found a lady and she said, "Oh no, you are on the Club Level room #3341." Apparently club level is a different way of saying 13th floor. So we walk into our room and it's gorgeous! The window shutters were from floor to ceiling and opened up to a gorgeous view of the valley and the pool below.

We had reservations at Orange Sky at 6:30 so we started getting ready for that. Our friend was also able to get us a private booth in the restaurant with another amazing view of the sunset! It was really fun to get dressed up and have a romantic evening with each other. We missed Peyton, but it was nice to have "our time" too. Here we were before dinner all dolled up! He's so handsome in a tie, don't ya think? ;)
When we got to the restaurant the hostess and our waiter knew it was our anniversary so at the end of our meal they brought this goat cheese cheesecake out to us. And they even gave us a free side of the potatoes au gratin with our dinner that were delish! After dinner, we went back to the hotel to change and then headed to a piano bar where they had a show called Dueling Pianos.
We also went into the casino a couple times and I lost almost $60 on penny and nickel machines!! I would have been so much more upset, but we hardly spent any money because my parents ended up paying for our room, which we didn't realize until we went to check out the next morning! Plus Kel and Thomas gave us a $40 gift card that we used towards dinner and Kenny didn't pay for a single drink that night. We had free drink vouchers for up to a $35 drink! The next morning was an amazing brunch! I stuffed myself silly with shrimp and crab legs! I know not a very great choice for breakfast, but I can never pass up on any type of seafood! Kenny liked the strawberry angel food cake waffles! I HIGHLY recommend going to their brunch! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G is all I have to say! And luckily we had two $12 vouchers that we used for brunch because it was still $35 for breakfast after we used them! But I think it's totally worth the $28 regular price anyway! It has EVERYTHING!

Everything was perfect and we had such a great time! I am such a lucky girl to have such a wonderful husband. Even though we may argue about stupid things from time to time, we know we have a great marriage and wouldn't trade it for anything! I love him so much!

Lately...

We've been staying indoors! We hate being couped up, but unless we are swimming it's just too hot to do anything outside! My parents got a new boat so we went to the lake a few weeks ago and had a great time! Peyton didn't join us, but maybe when she's a little older! I need to get her in swim lessons first! We got out there early and left by the time it started to get really busy. They have a big 3 person tube and we had a BLAST! Can't wait to go again!

Our niece Paige was here for the summer! We went to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast one morning because they don't have them in Canada and it's her favorite! Afterwards, we went to San Tan shopped a bit and played on the splash pad. Peyton didn't want to miss a thing with her so after a while she was pretty cranky. We also went to see our other new niece Teagan! She was so tiny and so precious! We went to Amazing Jake's one Saturday! Kenny and I watched Tommi that day so I didn't do many of the rides, but that place is pretty cool! The food wasn't bad either.Cereal makes her so happy!I went by a few garage sales on a friday morning and driving through our neighborhood I noticed how pretty the sky looked. Luckily, I got home in time to take a picture from our backyard! She's been into wearing all the headbands she can possibly find around the house!
We went to the Children's museum last weekend with Katie, Jake, and Ryker. I assumed my camera was in the diaper bag and turns out it wasn't. Bummer because I didn't get any pictures, but we had a lot of fun! We also went to a softball tournament for Hailey and birthday party for a cousin who is in town from North Carolina, but I have no pictures from them:( Hope you all have a great week! Oh and we are so EXCITED for football to start!!!! Woo Hoo!!!! Go Cowboys!!!!

Camping!

Memorial weekend we went camping with Katie and Jake! Peyton had so much fun and of course, was a walking dirt ball the whole time. As soon as we got there we changed her in the tent and as soon as she stepped out she tripped, fell and from then on was never clean! So excuse the dirty face in EVERY SINGLE picture! We had so much fun though and can't wait to do it again!
