Random Happenings...

There hasn't been too much going on around here. Peyton is still growing like the weeds in our backyard! I like the rain and I like our backyard, but I hate when it rains in our backyard! If weeds just grew inside the curbing, it wouldn't be bad because then we could just mow, but of course it has to grow in the rock! At least the weather is still nice in the evening so it's not too bad when we do yard work. I am really going to miss this weather. We have been taking advantage of it and going to the park down the street about every other night and playing catch. We gotta get ready for softball since I have been out for a season! I played a few weeks ago as an alternate when one of our friends' team needed someone and I was so sore the next day! So, I have been rollerblading (I know you're thinking "who does that still?" haha) But I HATE running (long distances) and it's a better exercise than just walking and that way I will still be able to move the day after a game when we play this summer :) I rollerblade about four miles throughout our neighborhood and it's quite relaxing. Anyway, Kenny has been playing on a men's team Tuesday nights and they have a really good team, but their record doesn't really show it. I am not sure what it is, but I don't think it is a winning one. We also went to one of Kelli's games that she was playing in and when you strike out you have to wear this! Haha! I think I am gonna have to make one for our team! This past weekend we went to a going away party for some family friends. We are going to miss them, but we will actually be visiting them in June! Sharon, the mom, and Natalie, the daughter, always fight over who gets to hold P when we see them. Although she likes both of them, I think Peyton has a sweet spot for Nat. Natalie was diagnosed with Leukemia last year and because of all of her treatments, she lost her hair. So every time we see them, she jokes and compares her hair to Peyton's...Nat's hair is definitely growing in faster:)Auntie Kel and P at the party!I don't think Peyton has ever seen a balloon...not that I can remember anyways, but she was really liking it!We went shopping at San Tan Mall last week and she got some new Vans! She also got some white ones too! Now we match! She only looks sweet and innocent, but she can leave messes like this...She unfolded all of the laundry after I had just folded it and she was looking at me like this...We were playing with her hair after her bath...well the hair she does have:)

Happy St. Patty's Day!

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day with my parents and had a delicious dinner of corned beef and cabbage! This was actually one of my favorite meals growing up so we had it more than just once a year, but it was a must tonight! Peyton enjoyed some carrots and potatoes. Afterwards, Hailey had a scrimmage that we went and watched.I wanted to make something festive and since I couldn't find mint chocolate chips at Walmart, I just made regular brownies and decorated them with some vanilla frosting and sprinkles. I was a little bummed because Betty Crocker had a fun recipe, but oh well.Peyton is getting the hang of clapping! She started doing it the other night at Kenny's softball game, but stopped when we made a big deal and sarted clapping along with her. She also started to "cheer" when Kenny got up to bat! She was so proud of her daddy;)I finally got a picture of P's top teeth! Excuse her greasy hair! Kelli wanted to put her hair into a mohawk and because it wouldn't stay by itself, she put vaseline in it! Crazy Auntie Kelli! We have also been doing some spring cleaning around here! We finally cleaned out the garage after putting it off for months! P's room was in desperate need of a thorough clean. I started in the middle of the week and finally finished Saturday! I hung up everything that has been sitting in the corner since before we brought her home, and finally went through all of her clothes and packed away the ones that are too small and had almost two garbage bags full! The only thing left to do is fill all of her frames with pictures! Now she has lots of room to play! I put some toys on the lower shelf so she eventually works her way over there and pulls them out to play with! It is so fun to watch her concentrate on whatever she is playing with. She looks so small here! You can see in the picture the little shelf I bought from goodwill for $2 that I painted. It was perfect for P's robes and towels.Just like her mama and daddy...she can fall asleep just about anywhere! She must have been extremely tired because she was playing and making all sorts of noises a minute before I looked over and saw this.I love baby kisses!Last week we thought she might have been teething more because she was kinda fussy. Then, after one night of her waking up at 1 am then again at 4 am, I suspected an ear infection so I made her an appointment. Luckily, they had an opening just two hours later because sure enough she had a DOUBLE ear infection and we got her on amoxicillin right away. She is doing much better now and there were only two maybe three rough nights for us. However, she did get two more top teeth in so now she has a total of six! I noticed they broke through just the other day.
Hailey is staying at our house for the weekend because my parents went out of town so we to San Tan Mall, had lunch, and shopped for Peyton's Easter outfit. We went to Tilly's to find some sunglasses and of course Peyton wanted to try some on too! Which ones do you think...blue or black?I'm thinkin' the blue ones!
Here's a little photo shoot Hailey and I had with her! My goodness she is CUTE! Even though she would hardly smile because she wanted to GRIND HER TEETH the whole time! But I still got some good ones!

Peyton is 8 months old!

Say CHEESE! Hey Mrs. Elephant, where do you think you are going? She is just growing up way too fast I tell ya! She is walking all over (with the help of her walker, of course) rolling, and crawling every which way, but forward. We actually thought she was just going to bypass the whole crawling thing and go straight to walking, but the other day I peeked in on her while she was napping (or so I thought) in her crib and she was on her hands and knees kinda rocking herself back and forth. I didn't get a picture at that time, but I finally charged my camara and got one just now while we were doing our little 8 month photo shoot. She TRIES to feed herself, and is getting better, but she still doesn't understand the whole spoon thing so she's a bit messy:) But she likes mashed potatoes! There has also been a little spring cleaning going on around here! I finally went through Peyton's clothes and separated the ones that are too small. She was helping me too! I know her hat doesn't match, but I just put it on her while I was going through everything:) I was rolling all of her socks together and putting them in the basket and she was taking them back out one at a time! Haha! She was very content with that and it was funny because I put all of them back in the basket when she started to play with something else and when she saw me do that, she dropped her toy and started to take them out again.Isn't this the cutest little ballerina you've ever seen?!The other day I gave her a bath and before I dressed her I cleaned her ears and she loves when we do that. Her whole body relaxes and this time she ended up falling asleep. I put her diaper on and clipped her nails and she didn't wake up once! She was one tired little girl.

We also celebrated two special birthdays! On the 1st, we celebrated Kenny's dad's birthday! Paige made his cake and couldn't have been more perfect for him! It was delicious too! Then on the 4th, we celebrated my grandma's aka "Monnie" by going to Logan's Steakhouse. I've ever been and even though it was good, I prefer Texas Roadhouse. I hope they both had wonderful birthdays and I hope they know we love them dearly!

I went to Goodwill last weekend...I'm a sucker for their extra 50% off days, and got this frame, which I painted with a can of spray paint, two other frames, a shelf for the baby's room, and a game, all for $9.95! I was ecstatic! Not only is that quite a bit of stuff, but it gave me a few projects to work on. Not that I don't have plenty of those around here already. This project cost me maybe $2.50...I already had the spray paint and I got the 8x10 picture for free from a special that Walgreen's was having last week!I also got this picture for free too because I was able to print two coupons! I hope that's not considered stealing...it let me and normally it won't if they don't want you too. Besides, the cashier didn't care!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
