Peyton's 1st Christmas & Tooth!

***PICTURE OVERLOAD!***

That's right, her first tooth broke through Christmas night! We were driving home and she was crying more than usual. I climbed to the backseat and sure enough I could feel a little poke when I was rubbing her gums. The next morning almost the whole top of it was out! Poor thing:( Our Christmas celebration started early in the week when a lot of my family came into town. My Aunt Julie, Uncle George, Jill and Trevor, came in on Monday. My uncle is in the military and he just got his orders for Texas last month so on their way moving from Washington to Texas, they were able to spend Christmas in the valley. Then on Wednesday, more of my cousins came in from North Carolina and Peyton was able to meet her 3rd cousin, Dawson, who is almost two months younger than she is. He is such a sweetheart! I still think Peyton is a baby, but when I was holding him it made me realize just how big she is getting! Christmas Eve, Kenny had to work, but at least he was home early! I spent that morning doing last minute stuff and of course swore to myself, just like every year before, we will have everything done a week before Christmas next year. It is just absolutely silly how many trips we have made to Target and Walmart in the last couple of weeks! Oh well, it's all worth it! That evening, we went to my parents for dinner. Then we went to Kenny's parents and in honor of the Holmes' family tradition of Kenny and his brothers exchanging gifts and getting new pajamas from his parents. Peyton got a cute little Christmas pajama sack too. We got home around 10 or so then the real fun began! We had to finish wrapping Peyton's gifts and build one. This year, we didn't go all out for Peyton because obviously she won't remember anything, not to mention be able to open it herself either. She got some clothes, shoes, a couple little toys and one big toy for when she starts walking from Santa! But don't worry, her grandparents did not deprive her of anything:) It was so cute helping her open her gifts. She would hold on to the paper then Kenny or I would just pull the gift away so it would tear off.

Christmas Eve!I can't believe I didn't get one of these sooner! She loves it! Thanks Grandma and Papa!Later that night playing Santa;)Christmas morning at home!Everything was going straight into her mouth! Now how am I gonna get that up and into my mouth?Later that morning at Nana's and PopPop's, cousin Paige helped me open my gift from her! It was a cute little outfit with a strawberry on the butt of my pants! That is one sexy face right there!Nana and PopPop Holmes with Peyton! This is the gift Kenny and I made for them...It says "HOLMES" from pictures I found in random places the last couple of weeks. They really liked it too!More presents for P!My first laptop!

Later that day, my grandparents had a big shindig at their house in Gilbert and she got more presents there too! Grandma and Papa Maher with their first grandbaby!Daddy giving me a smooch during family pictures on my very first Christmas!
Look at my REAL cowgirl boots grandma and papa got for me! And I got baby Wranglers to match!Me, Kel, Peyton and Jessica! We are only 2 months apart so we all three grew up going to the same schools, for most of the years, and were the best of friends! We were practically inseperable!
My Monnie (grandma) got all the little ones cute little socks! And of course she got more toys and clothes from aunts and uncles and cousins! But the celebration doesn't end there! Saturday night we went to my Aunt and Uncles and celebrated with my dad's mom! I didn't take too many pictures there, but we had a wonderful time and once again, Peyton was spoiled rotten by everyone! Great Grandma Linda goes CRAZY when she shops for me!
A couple of days before Christmas she met Dawson! They were sitting there getting along just fine... Then she decided to grab his cheek and he was done!Thank you to everyone who made P's first Christmas so special! We had a great time with our families and couldn't ask for better ones! We love you all and hope everyone who we didn't spend it with had a very Merry Christmas too!

Forget my two front teeth... All I want for Christmas...

IS THIS MONSTER! I swear, if she was old enough to ask herself, there is no way her daddy could say no with a smile like that:)Friday night we went to Bass Pro and Peyton met Santa! I saw in the paper the weekend before that they were doing it for free so we picked up Katie and Jake on the way and off we went! They had the coolest set-up and the line wasn't long at all! She fell asleep on the way and woke up about two people before it was her turn and she was in such a great mood. She was smiling, but I didn't wanna hold up the line and wait for her to smile for the camara. They are going to make great parents! Look how cute they are!Papa Bob is gonna teach me how to hunt! Grandma is gonna show me how to ride a horse!
They are just way too cool for us! How did we ever get so lucky to marry them?!

Happy Birthday Matty!

It's crazy to think when Kenny and I started dating this guy was only turning 10! Now he is 18 and such a handsome fella he has turned out to be! We love you Matt!We went to Olive Garden and of course they had to sing Happy Birthday...he was just a little embarrassed...maybe, just maybe because they put a hairnet on him...haha

5 months!

That's right, our little Sweet P is 5 months now! It is just amazing to me how fast our baby is growing! Every week she has new face reactions, makes new noises, giggles, squirms to move herself around more and it makes me a little sad, but it is so much fun to watch her reactions to her surroundings. She is still a little homebody when it comes to bedtime, which she will fight falling asleep and eventually gives up, but otherwise she is such good baby. She smiles all the time, even if a stranger talks to her, and I can't get enough of her gummy little grin! She just has the sweetest little personality! She also rolled over on the floor just the other day while I was getting ready. It was funny because as soon as I laid her down, I don't even think I was standing up straight before she rolled to her back. I tried to get it on video, but when I flipped her back she was good just like that:) She loves to eat and gets excited when it's breakfast, lunch, and dinner when she is in her high chair. We have really only been giving her sweet potatoes and squash for lunch, but I did try peas and she ate them, but it didn't seem like she was enjoying them. So I gave it about a week and tried them again and it just didn't seem like she was enjoying them once again. I kept trying for another minute or so and she actually gagged! So that was enough of those! She tried carrots and she does like those. She loves playing with her hands too. She sticks them out in front of her and just stares. She is reaching and grabbing and holding things like her toys which is really fun to watch with the ones that make noises. She figured one out that when you pull the legs, it vibrates back up. She talks to us and it is the most precious voice I have ever heard. I could listen to it 24/7! It is just simply amazing how much they learn to do in such a small amount of time! I also think she is very close to cutting a tooth or two! The other night was definitely the hardest we have had with her. She woke up and was just sobbing like an achy cry , I guess is the best way to describe it. I laid her on my chest in bed and wrapped one arm around her and with my other hand just massaged her gums until she fell asleep. It made me feel good knowing that I could soothe her by doing that. We felt so bad, and I especially did for Kenny because he had to get up the next morning for work. He is such a great daddy though, he was up with her too, and finally was able to fall back asleep once she stopped crying after about an hour.
Hmmm, how can I get outta here?Sleeping while mommy and daddy play Tiger Woods on 360...FUNNEST GAME EVER by the way:) I just wanna pick her up and squeeze her!We also went to Zoo Lights! We were invited to go with our friend, Don and his kids. It's been a while since we have been and we were so excited to see Peyton's reaction to the lights, but here she was all night long...until about 5 minutes before we left! She missed the whole thing! It is unbelievable how much time is put into setting up Zoo Lights! There is so much detail! When she finally woke up, we wanted to snap a family pictureI love this picture of her and her Auntie Kel!We went to Texas Roadhouse last weekend and Peyton was eyeballin' cousin Paige's dessert. So she shared a little with Peyton:)Paige was enjoying her dessert and we wanted a picture of her before she realized there was some on her lip!I love you PopPop!
