Long, but fun weekend!

Friday, we had another appointment! Heard the heartbeat which is just always exciting as the first time! I gained another 6 pounds and can now definitely tell in my pants. I am down to one pair of my own pants besides sweats. I think it's time to try maternity clothes again. But, everything was good and now we start going more often! She is also moving around so much still and I can tell she is getting bigger and bigger! It is just the most amazing feeling! We are both getting very anxious and excited to see her and hold her! Kenny talks to her all the time and every night we put an ipod on my stomach so she can listen to it. I usually put on Jack Johnson, but Kenny thinks she likes Pearl Jam. She started moving while they were playing:) We also officially decided on a name...Peyton Lynn Holmes!
We also went to Kenny's parents' and had dinner, attempted to watch the U of A game, but were completely disgusted by their effort so we got caught up on LOST instead. Saturday, we went to Black Angus for lunch. We haven't been here since my senior year of high school and I forgot how good the food was! Kenny had a steak and I had shrimp with penne pasta and alfredo sauce...I recommend either-they were both delicious! We had to get ready and make sure our bellies were full for an adventurous time at Babies-R-Us! We registered for our baby shower! This was so much fun! Kenny and I went a little crazy, but pretty much everything we saw, we just had to have:) It took us almost three and a half hours! I think I will have to go back through our registry and edit some stuff because it was very overwhelming at times. I think we registered for three of anything and everything! We gotta give the girl some options:) Especially when it comes to things like sheets. She may like flannel over cotton or sateen...you just never know:) I pretty much had control of the scanner in the bedding department, but when it came to the toys and safety stuff, Kenny took over. He is going to be such a great daddy! He scanned just about every outlet plug cover, cord cover, edge cushioner, doorknob cover, and anything else imaginable! I think we should just wrap our baby in bubble wrap...it would be cheaper and Kenny wouldn't have to worry! We just could not make up our minds. Here is a funny story that will probably make you laugh...it did me...at one point we had scanned so much that it said "registry full" on the screen. So I took it up to the counter and asked the lady for another scanner and she looked at me and says, "What do you mean it's full?" I told her her again, "Well it's not letting us scan anything else because it says it's full." And she says while laughing, "how much stuff did you guys scan?" And I said, " I don't know, maybe like 250 things." I told her we were really good at this kind of thing because with our wedding we registered for 30 pages of stuff! Anyway, so she gave us a new gun and off we went. I started looking at all the breastfeeding stuff and maybe 5 minutes later I went over to get the gun from Kenny and I look down and he already had the scanner back up to 160 items! He was standing in front of the pacifiers and I think he scanned every single one and then some! He said to me, "well, this one helps reduce the risk of SIDS, this one does this, this one does that, and so on..." So basically, I think we will just need a diaper bag for the pacifiers themselves:) It was a lot of fun though, even though my legs were killing me and Kenny was starting to fade fast in the end. Afterwards, we went to Home Depot and got the paint for the nursery! We were going to start it that night, but our minds quickly changed after our butts hit the couch. So Sunday morning we woke up and painted the pink part of the room. What a difference it made! Pictures will be posted later:) Then, I made $30 by selling an MP3 player on craigslist that I came across while cleaning. I posted it and not 30 minutes later a lady emailed me. She didn't live far so we met at the gas station down the street. We then went to target and registered there, as well. I saw a few little things there for her room and we figured Target might be more convenient for people than Babies-R-Us. Then, we went to my parents and had dinner and Kelli and I started to make the shower invitations. So far we only have the front finished...

My mom was out with their horses this weekend and came across these cute little guys in one of the stalls!

I feel that we got a lot accomplished this weekend! Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Quick update...

One season of softball ended for Kenny and they ended up third. It's the league that he plays here in Queen Creek with my sister and some other friends and family. They got up on the team by 8 runs, who by the way was going for an undefeated season until we beat them in the playoffs to knock them into the loser bracket:) After that we could only score 3 more runs and in the 2nd to last inning they tied it up. We didn't score in the last inning and they had last bats and the batter ended up hitting a homerun out of the park for the winning run! Not hard to do when the fence is only 270! Obviously, I am a little bitter about it! But we played a great game and definitely had them scared at first, but they went on to win the whole tournament. I actually ended up having to play, which was the first time since I found out I was pregnant. Only because one of our girls were late and we would have had to forfeit so I only batted, but ended up 2 for 2. I wasn't really trying to run but Kenny of course was running along side of me telling me "easy, easy, they are going to second." But even though I wasn't running fast, I think it would have been impossible for me to run any faster. It was like those dreams when someone is chasing you and you are running in slow motion! I do believe that it is impossible for pregnant women to run! There are a couple other women who are pregnant on other teams and they played the whole season! I think that is so dangerous and stupid on their part. I will just continue to be scorekeeper, thank you! Whatever though...we still had fun this season and even though we lost, we still ruined the other team's undefeated season so it makes it a little better:)

Now as for baby news, she is kicking more and more everyday! I love that feeling! Sometimes I will wait to tell Kenny that she is moving because I don't want to stop feeling her myself...I know that's a little selfish of me, but I just can't help it! I can also tell that I am getting bigger every week! I am pretty much down to only 3 or 4 pairs of shorts and pants now. I have been looking for maternity stuff, but they just don't fit right yet. Hope everyone has a great week!

Where does the time go?

***Warning: Very long post***
My goodness, it has been forever since I updated our blog! First off, the important stuff...We had another appointment last week and the due date became official after the ultrasound! July 6th is when we will be meeting our little baby girl, who still doesn't have a name:) Our choices are Peyton or McKenna and I left it all up to Kenny and he is torn between the two! Although, mostly everyone likes Peyton, he is not going to be persuaded that easily. He wants it to be because WE like it and not because others talked him into it:) We heard her heartbeat again and it's still going as fast as it should be. We also got all my blood test results back and everything looks great! Kenny and I couldn't be more thankful to hear how healthy she is and how great everything is going. We were a little nervous because I had only gained a pound from our first apointment to our second one, which totaled only about 7 pounds. Then our last appointment I gained 5 pounds. So I am weigh in at 117 and have gained a total of 12 pounds! I am still wearing my regular clothes, but I know soon enough I wont be able to anymore! I have also felt her moving a lot more and really know it's her! Kenny was getting very frustrated because everytime she would start to move he would go to feel and she would stop. Well, the other night we both fell asleep in the living room and I woke up about 3:30 to her moving so I woke Kenny up and he finally felt her!! It was awesome because it was probably the hardest I have ever felt her move! He loves talking to her everyday and gives her a kiss everyday:) I have been getting heartburn really bad every night, but I crave spice so I guess that's what I get! Plus, I didn't have morning sickness so I guess it's nature's way of telling me how lucky I am that I only have to deal with heartburn. I read that the more heartburn you have, the more hair the baby will have! I get backaches too and it's getting a little tougher to find a comfortable way to sleep at night. I used to be such a stomach sleeper, but that's almost impossible now. I also can tell everyday I am getting bigger and bigger because one day my belly button was kinda sticking out, but could be pushed back in, and now it's just out there for good. Well, at least for the next few months:) We are also trying to get started on the nursery, but there were a few home improvements we wanted to get done first. We got new carpet so we had to clear out the room which will be the nursery and we just left it empty so now it's a blank canvas for us:) We don't like any themes so we are choosing colors with like a vintage antiquish kinda theme. (pictures of colors and pattern below:)) We think we want dark furniture with ivory bedding, very soft pink, then I will throw a plummish color in there. I can picture it, but I have yet to really get going on it. We finally went to Babies-R-Us on Sunday and we are so excited to register! That is a really fun store! We spent almost 2 hours in there! She already has clothes which is what me and Kenny love to shop for! Anyway...here are some pics and ideas for the nursery:)
Here is an updated belly picture to start with... Her parents and grandparents have already started spoiling her! Kenny and I try to get her something every week! The little green sweater is what daddy picked out! Then one night at Target I saw the little white graphic tee on the right and thought it was adorable. It says "Lovebugs" on it so I grabbed it! I found it in the little dollar spot and when I got up to register it came up $.27! Now anyone who knows me knows how much of a bargain shopper I am so I ran back and grabbed every other plus I found socks too! It came to like $2.50! I love bargains! Now for those of you who know my mom, know how much of a tomboy she is, which just makes it even funnier that she was the first to buy her very first dress! But my mom loves the brand "Cowgirl Tuff" and found this little yellow one! She also found the little pink outfit at The Glitter Box!
Nana and Pop Pop Holmes found these cute little items! Theresa and I think the Santa one will be perfect for her first visit with Santa this Christmas! One of the moms of a girl that plays on Hailey's softball team made some bows for her! The pink, black, and white one matches the team!
Here are the ideas for her nursery: First, we are thinking of painting the bottom half of the walls pink and the top half ivory. Then with the letters that I will "scrapbook" of her name, I will hang those above her crib on the ivory wall! I have only gotten an "N" because I use a 40% off Micheal's or JoAnn's coupon and Kenny hasn't decided on the name so the only letters I can get right now are an "N" and an "E". I told him he needs to hurry and decide because there are only 2 common letters between the two names:) He just laughs!
I also found two frames at Ross that I plan on scrapbooking these with the same paper I use for her name. Then I found some embellishments that match another frame from Target and the paper! The purple and green frames were only $2.50 at Target! I love clearance!

I am still debating on the green frame, but it goes really well with the purple one!

Well, those are the ideas for the nursery, but we'll see if we change our minds:) I told you this post was really long!
