This morning I needed to get something out of the truck, so I opened the garage and walked out. As I walk out I see this huge tortoise lawn decoration on our driveway. My parents have one by their pool and that was the first thing I thought of. My cousin, Ryan, is the biggest prankster (one time he saw Kenny's truck at Home Depot. Well, Kenny used this truck as his work truck so he had a lot of stuff in the bed. When we came out everything was on the ground around his truck and while Kenny was trying to figure out what the heck was going on, Ryan jumped out of his truck a few vehicles over and was cracking up!) Anyway, I thought he was just pulling another joke and had gotten the one from my parents' house and was waiting for me to come out. (I didn't know why he would do it on a week day since he has a job and all, but it was the only thing I could think of) So I walk about 2 feet away from it and I open the truck door still looking at it and it moved its head! Needless to say, IT WAS REAL! I had no idea what to do! I went back inside and called Kenny. He was like, "shut-up, no way and laughing" thinking I am making this whole thing up or something! I was trying to explain to him that it was about as big as Peyton's swing-like the part she sits in. He said, "well take a picture of it and send it to me." He texted me back with "that thing is awesome" So I take my phone and my camera outside and right then an animal control truck comes pulling up in between our driveway and our neighbors. As he was getting out our conversation went something like this:
Me: I assume you are here for this?
Guy: No-with a look on his face about how mine was when I first saw it
Me: Oh, well can you do anything about it?
Guy: I am only here to leave a noise complaint about your neighbors dogs (we aren't the neighbors who called lol)
Me: Ok well who could I call about this thing?
Guy: AZ Wildlife or Game & Fish. I probably have the number so give me a second
He said it probably didn't come from too far away. But he thought it was pretty cool too. At this point I thought it was kinda neat myself:) So I went back inside and called my mom to see if she would come over and look so I had proof I was not lying because Kenny or my dad did not believe me! It was funny when I called my dad and was telling him that it looked like the one by their pool he was like, "nuh-uh, that thing is like 2 feet long" I said, "I KNOW! Dad, this thing is huge!" Well, my mom never answered and my dad thought I should ask my neighbors before I called G&F to come and get it. Apparently, people keep these things as their pets, but I didn't think of that. I was just afraid if it didn't get back to its natural environment it was going to die. So I went back outside to ask my neighbor and it was gone! I started looking for it and as I was walking next door I saw that it was on its way up to the front door walking across the driveway. I rang the doorbell and waited a minute, but he never answered. In the meantime the tortoise is getting closer and closer to me and Peyton so I started walking away. (I know it wasn't very fast, but it was still kinda scary) I was getting ready to walk back home and a couple houses down I saw someone come out of the garage where some people who just moved in this past weekend. He started jogging around the cul-de-sac looking between the houses so I figured right then it was his. I yelled at him and asked if this is what he was looking for pointing down at the tortoise. He laughed and said yeah while he was introducing himself and his "pet" It was crazy! Luckily, that animal control guy couldn't do anything about it. But wouldn't this thing freak you out! My mom called me back but, by then the owner came and got it. She thought it sounded really cool too and was bummed she missed my call earlier.
Of course I can't post anything without posting pictures of Peyton too! We celebrated my Aunt Deann's birthday Sunday and of course she is the center of attention!Oh nooo! We really don't want her to suck her thumb, but she will not take a pacifier either.I love pictures like this where her arms are up like she is dancing:)

Happy Birthday Dad & Katie!

The first video is right after she woke up...I think she will be a morning person:) I hate to "embarrass" my daughter, but she "fluffed" in the first video and I think it is so funny to hear:) lol The second one, I was trying to get her to "coo" because the other day I kept saying, "hi" to her and she would make an "ooo" sound. She didn't, but it was still cute anyway. Enjoy!
Wednesday night Kenny and I had a couple softball games and we won! The second game got a little outta control because the umpire was awful. Our short stop tagged a runner and it was obvious that he was out, but the umpire called him safe. Our whole team is very competitive, and they started arguing the call. Even Kenny came stomping out on to the field with Peyton in his arms after the umpire started pointing his fingers in my mom's face. She wasn't even the one talking, but I guess he must have thought she was the only one that could calm the team down... Thursday, Matt had a football game. They lost, but they played a really good team. Matt played very well though! Friday night, we had a wedding. It was very nice getting invited to this wedding because we haven't talked to Mike, the groom, for a year probably! His wife seemed very nice too so we are very happy for him! Saturday, afternoon, Kenny had a luncheon for his work and that was nice. He was excited to show off Peyton to his co-workers! Sunday, was going well until that night when the cowboys lost:(...There's always next week. Now on with the pictures! Me and Peyton decided to have a little photo shoot yesterday! I may be bias, but she is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen! ;)Her skin has a weird tint in this picture because I was trying to bring out the pink more, but it's still a pretty picture:)Proud parents! We love her so much!
Hailey had a softball scrimmage last night and Peyton was watching for a little while, but then fell asleep by the time it was over.

I turned 2 months last week! Mom and dad are loving my fancy dresses that I can fit into now! My Great Grandma Linda got me the lime green one and Great Grandma Hill got me the turquoise one.
She is such a happy baby!I am thinking about taking up boxing...She has been into lights and mirrors lately! She also loves to lay on our bed and watch the ceiling fan too! Her swing has a mirror that she has discovered! Or she might be looking at the mobile...
Just relaxing! I love these pajamas! They make her body look so long which is funny! They are so convenient too. They keep her warm since she always kicks her blanket off. It's also easy to change her diaper in the middle of the night.
I am still not taking a pacifier, but every once in a while I find my thumb. I just have to concentrate really hard! :)Daddy taking pictures of me and mommy! The other night I was kissing her face and she slowly tilted her head back and I just kept kissing her chin and neck. It was so cute because she was so relaxed. We also had our first softball game Wednesday night and I was really looking forward to playing, but the other team didn't show up! So we scrimmaged a team that played right before us. Matt also had a football game, which they won! Hailey had a softball tournament, they took 3rd against 16 year olds! This was Peyton's first tournament! We only went to the morning game and evening game since it is still too hot during the day. We also enjoyed watching football! And the Cowboys won! Dad was a happy camper! By the Sunday night game I was pooped! Too much football for me in one day! I fell asleep while Auntie Hailey was holding me. Look at those cheeks!
Our poor baby went to the doctor for her two month check-up and had to get 2 shots- one in each thigh:( But everything looked great the doc said! She has gained 2 pounds since her last appointment and grown to 23 inches! She is in the 50th percentile for weight, length, and head. Our appointment must have been too early for her so she needed to take a little nap when we got home.

Rambling...
**Very long post**
I never really blog like this, but I thought why not...Tonight we went for a walk down the street to the greenbelt in front of our neighborhood. It was so nice outside! We came home, I fed Peyton, and she fell sound asleep on her daddy's chest. Kenny and I decided to start watching the LOST seasons just for the heck of it a couple of months ago, we finished that and decided to start watching HEROES. Not as good as LOST, but it will have to do since the last season of LOST won't be on until January! Bummer:( I got a little sidetracked by my computer and decided to check email, read the yahoo headlines, check my fantasy team, and so on. I came across interesting articles and sad blogs that just got me thinking about my life. As my sweet, precious, healthy baby girl sleeps beside me right now safely wrapped up in my handsome and perfect husband's arms, for some reason or another I wanted to take time and just blog about the things I am grateful for in life.
I am so grateful for being able to take walks with my family. I am not only grateful that I have a family to walk with, but the physical ability to walk. I am grateful that my little girl can see the sky and be amazed by the trees when we walk under them. It was so fun to see her face and her eyes open so wide! It's like she was saying, "whoa! What are those?" I am grateful that she is healthy most of all! I am grateful I am healthy, my husband is healthy, our families, siblings, our parents, and friends are healthy. I am grateful that in this rough economy we are doing just fine. We have a roof over our heads and food in the fridge. Yeah, there are always things we want, like more money, bigger and better "stuff" but when it comes down to it, none of that "stuff" matters. I am grateful to have a husband who I know would do anything for me. I am grateful that we have parents that love us more than anything in the world. And now that we have a child of our own, I understand why my mom always said that to me.
Things I am in love with at the moment:
*My little family who is sleeping peacefully beside me
*A random text from my mom that says, "Goodnight baby, I love you"
*All of the pictures Kelli takes of P and instantly posts them on Facebook...what a proud auntie she is:) And by the way, we have a FB, but I think I have gotten on about 3 times and don't really care for it, but to those of you who commented on all of Kelli's updates and pictures from the day of my labor, Thanks:) She showed me!
*Oreo Klondike Bars! Yum!
*McDonald's vanilla iced coffee-I even save about $5 because it's not from Starbucks
*Bargain shopping, coupons, etc.
*Popsicles-still:)
*Blogging about my baby girl
*Her perfect little smile
*Waking up next to her
*Weekend mornings-so I can wake up with my hubby too
*Spending time with our families
*Football season!
*Softball season! CO-ED and Kenny's men's team! I love chatting with Katie, Sasha, Brie and Aunt Deann on a weekly basis in the stands:)
*This is strange, but vacuuming! I love vacuuming and I wasn't able to for 4 weeks after delivery!
*The weather
and much more...it's late, I can't think...
More rambling
Last night me and Kenny were laying in bed and Peyton was between us and I said, "God, I love her so much!" He smiled and said to me, "I know, huh" He brushed his finger over her forehead and said "it's hard to explain, but she makes me love you even more." I never thought about it, but it's totally true. I didn't think I could love Kenny more, but until we became parents we see each other in a different way. Nothing matters more to us than her. She is our everything!
I love him:)

Nice & relaxing 3 day weekend
Saturday morning Uncle Matt had to finish his football game that was rained out. Then we went to Kenny's parents, ate some delicious bbq chicken with baked potatoes and watched the ASU game with Matt and Sasha! Sunday, Kenny had a football draft then we went to my parents for a good steak and potato dinner! Monday we slept in, went grocery shopping and came home and just hung out, watched tv, and played with Peyton! Here are some pictures from the weekend!
I am starting to fit into some of my 3 month clothes!Daddy Really likes this dress!Kenny's parents got Peyton a toy to hang on her crib. She doesn't sleep in there yet, but the other day I was doing some laundry and I put her down and turned it on and she was loving it! It was a little dark because it was overcast outside so she could see the bright lights really well!Tired little baby. It's so funny how she falls asleep with her hands up like that.Awww, you make me blush when you tell me how pretty I am!Swinging is hard work, but someone's gotta do itBeautiful baby girlAuntie Kelli wanted me to fall asleep on her...she must have been tired too! Since we found out we were having her, my parents said they were gonna get Peyton her first pony...and they weren't lying!Look ma, no hands! Yee Haw!

Full of Smiles!
Peyton is growing like a weed! She is moving, smiling, and "talking" more and more everyday! And of course...getting cuter than EVER! I don't know what can be better than her gummy grin she flashes, but I am sure when she starts giggling we will say the same thing. She is becoming a chunkers too! I love her little double chin and her rolls on her legs! We are so blessed to have such a happy, beautiful, healthy baby girl. Obviously I am one of those moms who have to put those ridiculous, out-of-control kinda bows on her little girl, but they are so cute, how can I resist?!
Okay...are we done yet...because I am?Softball season is starting and I am really looking forward to playing again. Kenny has already started playing in his men's league. Luckily his games have been the later double-headers so Peyton and I have been able to go and hang out with everyone since it isn't too hot...she usually falls asleep:)
Going...Going...Gone...For Father's Day Kenny got a gift certificate to do this handprint with Peyton. The lady came over and did it when Peyton was two weeks old and it took her about four weeks to finish it. It's sad how much she has grown since then, but luckily he will always have something to look at and remember just how small she was. Kenny picked out the colors...It turned out great! She wasn't really enjoying it...Hope everyone has a good week!
