Where to begin...

November was a busy/crazy/fun/exhausting month! The most exciting news was learning that Peyton is going to have a cousin! My sister and Thomas are having a baby! We thought the pressure was off of us, but when someone hears the news they ask us, "so when is your next one coming? Wouldn't it be fun if you were pregnant together?" I'm just so happy Peyton will have a cousin close in age and one she can see often! Her other cousin, Paige, is 9 and she lives in Canada:( But we will actually be seeing her this weekend! Even though it's only been a couple of months since we last saw her in person she sounds and looks so much older whenever we skype with her!

Our thanksgiving was great too! Kenny had a turkey bowl early that morning so we dropped Peyton off with my parents because it was early and thought it might have been too cold. His team won the whole thing with a 60 yard touchdown Kenny threw to my cousin Josh at the end! After the game we went to visit my grandma in the hospital. She had heart surgery and is recovering, but has had some other complications along with it. Please keep her in your prayers and we hope she can be home for the holidays with us so she doesn't have to spend Christmas in there like she did Thanksgiving. After the hospital we headed to my aunts for Thanksgiving Feast #1. Later, we went to Kenny's parents' for feast #2! We were stuffed and definitely "thankful" for the delicious food and fun times with family that day!

Kenny had another flag football tournament Thanksgiving weekend in Avondale. We were there pretty much all day and even though they didn't win the whole thing, we had fun! They went 3-2 for the day and both losses were to the same team. They were really good and have played in leagues for years! I'm not sure if she is biting Kenny here because she wanted to run off and he wouldn't let her...it kinda looks like it...hmmm we better nip that in the butt! She was exhausted by the end of the day! After their tournament we went to the hospital to see my grandma and my mom loaded her up with snacks to keep her content...I promise, we do brush our child's hair, it just has a mind of it's own! She's got some other pretty sweet hairstyles too! And an attitude that goes along with it!>And for some reason this one spot seems to grow really fast! Ok, just kidding, it's one of my extensions!
Leave it up to Peyton to fall into any wall, door jam, or flat on the floor to make her nose bleed profusely! I swear God made her with knees of steel too because considering how much she falls on them it's a miracle they aren't bruised more! Look at her poor nose...this was the day after she face-planted into the rocks after tripping over the curbing in the backyard. I felt so bad because I was right next to her looking the other way and Kenny saw it coming, but was too far to do anything before it happened. Of course it was the day before I took her to the doctor to make sure the little cold she was getting wasn't anything serious. (I know we are worry warts, but we will gladly pay for some reassurance from a professional when it comes to her) Kenny was worried what the doctor was going to say because it swelled up a little and looked even worse that morning. But I don't think he thought we abuse our child even though he did ask what happened. She loves sweeping and it's cute even if she does scatter my dirt/dust piles all over again. She also likes when I chase her with the vacuum. She used to be afraid whenever she saw it, but now she likes it. I know her hair looks awesome, right?! She loves helping me with dishes too! Especially unloading and loading the dishwasher! You can see her poor little swollen nose here too:(Peyton is infatuated with trash cans! If you are missing anything, just look in the nearest one. We find everything in ours! Shoes, toys, towels, food, you name it!We are still learning to keep things out of her reach...like the powder! We also celebrated our 26th birthday last month by going to Red Robin! And Peyton thoroughly enjoyed my free birthday sundae! A while back my sister and Thomas had an engagement party at my grandparents. As you can see Thomas is super excited! So is Kenny-they get along really well! The bride to be and her precious little flower girl!I also had my soon to be sister-in-law's bridal shower/bachelorette party! They are getting married next weekend and I am so happy to have her for a sister-in-law! She is so sweet and fun to be around! Peyton is growing up so fast and just keeps getting more fun! She loves giving high fives and pounds and thinks she can get whatever she wants with a hug and a kiss. She still LOVES dancing and sometimes gets so excited when her favorite song comes on (or the beginning of Jack's Big Music Show) She jumps and claps and stomps her feet so much that she constantly falls to the ground because she is dancing before she's even got her balance back from falling the last time. It's hilarious! Some of her newest words are bath, hot, yeah, pup, dog, "ruf", done, gone, and the other night she said purple so loud and clear in the tub that me and Kenny looked at each other and started laughing because it was so funny that it was so clear! Then she said it a couple more times and we continued to laugh! She only talks on her terms though and usually it's when we are driving or reading a book together. She uses gestures more often like when she wants to put the little dogs in their kennel she pats her legs like "c'mon dogs" or when she answers no she will shake her head. Or if you ask her where something is she will put her hands up and look around like "hm, I don't know" if she doesn't know where it is. She also tries to sneak into the pantry for snacks and I think she gives most of them to Winnie and Ethel. She gets into the desk drawers and likes to play with the cards and then leaves them for mom and dad to play "52 card pickup". One of my memories from when we lived in Gilbert in our old house was the first and only time I told my dad I would play that game. Of course he helped me pick them up though:) We also started the process of potty-training. Only because she would almost always tell me when she went potty in her diaper. I thought it was way too early so we kind of put it off, but we got a potty chair and now when she picks at her diaper we just sit her on it. Or in the mornings I will take her in there. We aren't pushing it at all, but I started reading up on it and those are the first little signs that let you know when to start. And I know of a few girls that were potty-trained by the time they were 18 months! Crazy, but that will be nice when the time comes. We will see how it goes! Nothing else too exciting going on...just getting ready for Christmas! We finally got our lights up and our house decorated. Our tree looks funny too because all of the ornaments are on the top half of the tree. The night we were putting it up, Peyton decided to take one off the able and throw it like it was a ball. Kenny and I were looking the other way when it hit the tile and shattered. We look over to see her with her arm up and a look like, "what the heck, why didn't it bounce?" LOL This year is going to be so much fun! We are going crazy for her when it comes to Christmas shopping, but after seeing all the stuff we have for her, we agreed she is done! We are about half way done with our shopping and hopefully we will get the rest of our families and friends done this friday! Kenny took the day off so we are determined to finish! It will be a lot of fun too! Happy Holidays to everyone!

Halloween Weekend!

Friday night we took dinner over to Jake and Katie and once again I didn't get a single picture of Ryker! But let me tell you, he is so cute and such a good baby! He didn't cry once while we were there! Saturday night we had a wedding, and Sunday was family and football! We didn't do anything too exciting this year for Halloween. We watched the Cowboys lose...again...then watched more football with my family afterwards! I know we are lame for not taking her out, but she doesn't understand the concept quite yet. We were going to take her to Trunk or Treat at the park on Saturday, but we had a wedding to go to that night. We weren't too sure what she was going to be this year and then when we were at the hospital for Ryker last week, Katie's sister offered a pumpkin costume that her daughter wore! We were going to dress her up as "Flo" from the progressive commercials (Peyton is OBSESSED with her), but we procrastinated with that costume. I like this one better anyway! Isn't she the cutest pumpkin you ever did see! At the wedding! She is getting so big! Where does the time go?!?!She was stirring whatever was in the cup with the wedding favor bubbles...Kelli's infamous "Ha I got your camera and snapped a picture when you weren't looking!" picture! Last Thursday we went to Carrabba's with Kelli and Thomas and Peyton was in a pretty good mood. I was surprised for it being last minute planned and a little later than when we usually have dinner! This has got to be the best picture I have ever gotten of them! But who isn't happy after eating a big plate of The Chicken Trio from Carrabba's! Yum!!! And then topping it off with The John Cole ice cream! Heaven!!! Peyton gets into everything! She opens my makeup drawer and likes to play with my elastic headbands. (I actually had to take all my makeup out or she would get into that too!) I think she must put them on like a shirt because they end up around her chest. Then she got a second one over her head and it looked like a little halter top.She got into Kenny's drawer the other day and came out wearing these shorts of his! Have a great week everyone!

Happy Anniversary!

I can't express how much I love this man! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary Saturday, and I am so lucky that I get to spend the rest of my life with this hunk!

Lately...

Peyton loves to play "Patty Cake!" She especially likes to "roll it" and "mark it with a P" haha! I think I say this every new stage, but this is probably my favorite time because she is so sweet, yet so sassy too! She definitely has a little attitude and will shake her head when something doesn't go her way. We are gonna have to work on that before she becomes a teenager for sure! Last night we went to visit our friends, Katie and Jake, in the hospital and Peyton HATED when Kenny was holding their new baby, Ryker! (By the way I am super bummed I did not take one single picture when we were there! I was too busy staring at the handsome little man!)

We have been going for walks to the park and playing out back during the days! The weather is so nice!I think she will be "that kid that throws sand!" Getting her hands dirty! Kenny might have been having more fun than her!She loves to play in the kitchen while I cook...sometimes she tries to squeeze her way in between me and the cabinets or the stove. She climbs on the dishwasher and "helps" me unload it. She "cleans" the pantry. And she likes to "wear" the tupperware. It's really funny when she puts the strainer because it's almost like a perfect helmet on her.She definitely has daddy under her spell...just look at how cute she is...I don't blame him!The first few minutes of the Cowboys game Monday night, she was giving high fives like crazy...until Romo got hurt:( Helping dad with the truck.

Little Miss Independent!

Sunday morning we went to church and we decided to leave Peyton in the nursery for the first time! We dropped her off and there was no looking back for her! She went right to playing! (Well, after she watched this other little boy scream bloody murder while probably thinking "What is this place and why are my mom and dad leaving me here?"-But then she went right to playing.) She has always either went into the service with us (when she was really little), or we've dropped her off with one of our parents so this was a big deal also because we've never left her with anyone other than our parents and my aunt! Don't tell, but I think Kenny was a little sad. He kept going back and looking in the class to make sure she wasn't crying, but deep down I think he wanted her to miss us and cry for us ;) She is a big girl though and there will be many days where we have to let her go even if we don't want to. She must have had a lot of fun though because she was crashed when we picked her up!

Randomness...

Whenever Peyton is napping (and I'm not cleaning or folding the laundry) I try to scrapbook or something...So the other day I decided to decorate a little for Halloween...the best part of these projects is that they were FREE because I had everything I needed! First, I made a little banner out of scrapbook paper. Then I made little ghosts from napkins and hung them with fishing line. (You can only see the line in the pictures) Then I made the little "Trick or Treat" sign with some shims from the garage, black spray paint, and more scrapbookpaper. The only thing i want to do is cover the "fence" part with black glitter...that would make it look cuter I think! I have it on top of the mirror, but I think I'm going to move it...I will add some spiderweb too! Then the other day in the store I was waiting in line and saw this so I want to make this too...I saw this and thought it was so cute! I didn't buy the magazine, but I think I can figure it out without the directions;) We'll see!
Saturday, we cleared out our guest bedroom because I think we've had one guest stay the night in there. We both agreed it would be best to make it a toy/play room. Unfortunately, I already painted it to match the decor of the bedding and stuff and I really didn't feel like painting another room pink so for now it's staying this color. Unless I find the color I like on the "OOPS" shelf at Home Depot! Then it might be worth painting:) Here's one side...I'm going to print a bunch of black and white pictures and make a photo collage of family and friends and put it in one of the big white frames and on the little shelves. I think I might have Peyton draw/color/paint a picture for the other frame. She really likes the little shelves to the left of the cabinet where I put her puzzles and some of her books. I thought keeping the room black and white was ok because I think her toys will add enough color in there. Plus this is the wall you see from the living room and den so I wanted to keep it "clean" looking. And the BEST Part of this room makeover was that (so far) I have not spent one penny! I had everything! The shelves, frames, paint, curtains, EVERYTHING! Cleaning out the guest bedroom closet was like Christmas! I had so many home decorations and I still have more to put out! Now I just need to work on this side and do something about that bare wall! I'm planning on painting the "shelves" to the left, which is actually a changing table that I got for free! When I got it, I thought of my friends Katie and Jake becasue they had just found out they were expecting. I knew who it came from (so it wasn't gross haha) and it was in GREAT condition! I figured if they didn't want it I would use it for some sort of storage. And I also want to cover the blue bins...maybe with damask to match the cabinet above? I want to find a little "Peyton's Parking" sign to put above her car and wagon too. Here she was that night after we moved all her toys in!Speaking of that black and white cabinet...Here's the story behind that...I saw it a couple of years ago at Savers. It was $13! I know...and can you believe my penny pinching ways got the best of me I passed it up! I got half way home and thought to myself "why didn't I get it?!" I could not stop thinking about it so I call information for the number to Savers and had them hold it...I don't think they are allowed to, but the guy (luckily who answered the phone) remembered I was looking at it and said as long as I picked it up that night it wasn't a problem. So I called my sister because she worked like 1/2 mile from the store and asked her to pick it up and take it to my little sister's softball game. Yes, I remember every detail about that cabinet because in my opinion it was the best thing I ever purchased and I am so happy to this day that I got it and nobody else saw it in that 15 minute span of me kicking myself in the butt for not getting it in the first place! LOL! When I got it from my sister she was like "I can't believe you didn't buy this right then!" Anyway, to get back to the point of the post...it was an ugly light yellow-brown color so I painted it black. It matched the guest bedroom furniture, but I thought for "Peyton's Play Place" it was too dark so I painted it white. I didn't worry about getting in the nooks and crannies of it because I LOVE the look of glazed furniture and that's what it kinda looks like with the black left on. I love the detail...and there is one little piece that broke off that I need to glue back on, but otherwise it is perfect! There is also a shelf in it and I keep all of our wrapping paper, gift bags, boxes, and bows stored in it. The doors are tight so P probably couldn't open it even if she tried, but I don't even think she knows it opens anyway. This was just the first coat...I know it looks a little sloppy on the edges.
Here it was before...
I also cleaned up this "catch all" in our hallway. Once I get to cleaning it somehow leads to re-decorating and repainting. I wish I wouldn't have painted the back wall of the desk this color:( I liked the dark better and of course I don't have enough left to paint it back the way it was.
Another random thing I want to share is THIS AWESOME DEAL! I got a gift card type coupon for JCPenney's which was weird because I don't rememeber the last time I went into that store. Anyway, it was $10 off a purchase of $10 or more. So Peyton and I took a drive to spend it. I found her an outfit for next summer, myself an outfit and a sweatproof travel cup. For only...$1.23! Peyton's outfit was $3.17 and my outfit was $1.97! I love these rompers and think they look so cute, but I never bought one because I just wasn't sure if I would ever wear it. Well, I figured for $1.97 of money that wasn't even mine it was well worth it! Then the cup was on sale for $5.99. And I am glad I didn't spend the $15+ at Starbucks for the same thing! The lady couldn't believe my deal! She said it saved like $65 or some crazy amount like that. I know my outfit was $44 reg. price! What a steal! I almost feel bad doing that...but not bad enough because I did the same thing with a Kohl's coupon just the other day! Haha! Although, I did buy a stuffed animal for Peyton knowing that it wasn't part of the coupon because it goes to charity. But even then, that were only $2.50! And I got a shirt for both me and Peyton!
I love my "thrifty"-ness! Kenny does too;)

Slackers!

I'm blaming it on Peyton haha...I don't want to say she is a handful, but she definitely keeps me on my toes and blogging just isn't a top priority when I would rather be playing with her anyway. Besides it's impossible to have my computer open when all she wants to do is pound on the keys or when I'm at the desktop because then all she wants is the mouse! I think I post the same stuff, but she is getting so big and she is so much fun! All she wants to do is play catch-which she is pretty good at throwing the ball and sometimes she will even catch it! She loves being outside so I can't wait for it to cool down during the day! She will play with her high chair, stroller and wagon forever-she LOVES the buckles and belts in them! She loves to dance too! I keep the tv on throughout the day even though she doesn't watch it unless there is music-then she will bust out with some pretty sweet moves! It's hilarious! She loves music! Especially the backyardigans theme. She will lean to one side and wave with the other hand. The other day she was playing with the stroller behind the couch I was sitting on and when that song came on I heard a smack and I looked over knowing she fell and waiting to hear her cry, well she tripped over the wheels trying to get around the couch to start dancing! She popped up and ran to the tv and started throwing her arms around like nothing happened!
She loves her some chocolate chip cookies!

One night we made Hawaiian Punch slushes and they were so good!Kenny felt funny drinking out of a maragarita glass...I told him we might as well use them since we don't use them for Margaritas!Peyton really enjoyed them too! This smile of hers is priceless! Hmmm...what can I get into next? When I was little, my hair was thin and stringy and my aunt called me "Mophead"...I think it's safe to say this is where Peyton got it from. Poor girl! Our little dare devil!

Here she was all ready for my dad's birthday celebration! How cute is she?!.Well there's a sad little story that goes along with this cute little dress. First off, she loved wearing this dress! She kept twisting and turning and bunching up the tulle and was enjoying every second wearing it. I saw her out of the corner of my eye twisting and turning and holding on to the skirt and right when I looked down she lost her balance or something and smacked right into the wall of the bar:( I knew it hurt and she started crying instantly and when I picked her up I put her against me. When I pulled her away to look at her forehead (where I though she hit) it was nothing but blood around her mouth and nose. I was on my way into the bathroom where Kenny was and when I walked in he freaked out like "what happened!" I think the blood all over my cheek scared him more than when I first saw the blood on Peyton! We were looking in her mouth to see if she knocked out a tooth, but it ended up being her poor nose:( Kenny was calming her down while I cleaned my cheek and when I went to check her I started getting teary-eyed because it was so sad:( I told Kenny, "Bless her little heart, she was just dancing around and smacked the wall" and then when Peyton saw me upset she started crying again. She got blood on it so I don't know if she will ever wear it again:(
Katie also had her baby shower a couple of weeks ago! Her pregnancy has flown by and I can't wait for little Ryker to get here! I'm having baby fever!

Last weekend we went to San Tan Flat for our friend's birthday and they had a live band and we could not keep her away from the stage! All she wanted to do was dance! She would bend her knees, stick her butt out and move her arms up and down! It was so cute! She fell a couple of times and was FILTHY from all the dirt! Braxton got into it too!She loves her chicken! Look at that dirty face!
