Overdue Update(s)!

Peyton is all over the place now-a-days and getting into so much stuff! She likes to play with tupperware, piles of FOLDED clothes, Kenny's dvds, and just about anything else she can get her curious little hands on! She has such a sensitive little soul and will cry like a baby (no pun intended) if someone laughs around her, at her, with her, it really doesn't matter. I was talking to the pharmacist one day at Target and we started to laugh and she looked at me and got a huge frown and started to SCREAM. Kenny had to walk away with her to calm her down. Same thing happened at Dillard's when the lady at the jewelry counter and I were talking, and again one night when we were giving her a bath and I was messing with her hair. She just gets offended or something. She likes to clap when we say "yay" all on her own without us doing it with her. Kenny and my mom have been working on teaching her "high five" and she is getting that down too! Luckily, we can still put her in her walker without worrying too much about what she is getting into and she loves it! It kinda looks like she is going so fast that her hair is blowing back, but really it's just her bedhead.Crawling to the tupperware after getting bored with the pantry. She got tangled in the Target bag, but that wasn't gonna stop her!Kenny calls Winnie her "P-I-C" (Partner in Crime) because Winnie follows her all around. They love each other so much! One day she got halfway under our bed and was just watching tv.Peyton is pretty much done with baby food and will only eat the fruits now. We have been letting her try different foods and all she wants is whatever is on our plates. She has had chicken noodle soup, spaghetti, lasagna, scrambled eggs, pasta salad, just to name a few. We went to Carraba's a couple of weeks ago and she was in Heaven with their mashed potatoes! The people at the table next to us kept talking about her and how cute she was. Here was her first real meal of spaghetti.Would you like some Daddy? We also went to Lara's baby shower a couple of weeks ago! We have been friends since the first grade! I wasn't going to bring Peyton, but Lara wanted to see her. She let her hold her for the first 10 minutes or so and was totally fine...then her attitude quickly changed:) Here's the cute picture of them I stole from Lara's blog! She also found a new friend. We went to a little family gathering last weekend and there was a little girl there who was only about 3 weeks older than Peyton. If this doesn't make you smile, I don't know what will:)What a little peach!I went into to check on Peyton while she was napping and thought it was funny to see her sleeping like this because I sometimes fall asleep in the same position. Like mother, like daughter:) She chased this plastic star out of her room and down the hall...everytime she got it she would throw it and crawl to get it.It kept her entertained for a bit...until she saw my feet and wanted to play with my toes. That didn't last long because I wouldn't let her eat them! Hopefully we don't have one of those kids who bite their toenails! I know, GROSS!Kenny and I started softball again. Friday night we had our first double header and won both! I was kinda nervous to play because it's been a season, with the exception of a game or two, but I hit all seven times I was up to bat! My body definitely felt the results of all that running I did the next morning and Sunday was even worse! But it was a lot of fun! We actually are playing in two leagues in the next couple weeks and can't wait! This one just started earlier. It's going to be a lot of fun! My dad came so that he could keep an eye on P and she got cranky a few times so we had to switch the batting order so Kenny and I weren't right next to each other in the line-up. That way one of us took care of her when she was having a meltdown! Here she is after the game still awake at almost 11:00! Her sleep schedule has been a little messed up lately so we try to keep her up as late as possible. The 3:30-4 in the morning Peyton alarm clock just wasn't working for us!

Inspiration

I finally repainted our bedroom! I have been putting it off for a few months now making sure I wanted to take on that challenge. I say "challenge" because we have a plant shelf that runs along a whole wall and angles that don't make it any easier. Throw in some vaulted ceilings and there you have it...a "challenge." I don't mind painting, but I wasn't really looking forward to it, so I kept tossing the thought around of just dealing with the two-toned green, which I painted and liked it, but finally got over it. It's amazing what paint does to a room! Anyway, I love watching HGTV and I saw this room on one of the shows, Splurge and Save, and absolutely loved it! I know it's a dining room, but who cares. I like that it gives me a "retreat-type-feel" like we are on vacation somewhere exotic. So there you have it...my inspiration...one of my many projects I will be working on for the next few weeks...maybe months...who knows:) A little crazy, different, and not near what the rest of our house looks like, but I think that's what I like about it. So far I only have the tan color on the wall. And Kenny wasn't too keen on the zebra thrown in there, but his words were, "Babe, you know I don't care." I can't wait!

Our little Sweet P is 9 months already!! I know I say I can't believe it all the time, but really, I cannot believe it! She just has a mind of her own that's for sure! She is constantly learning things every day! Obviously, that is was she is supposed to do, but can she just slow it down for goodness sake?! These last couple of weeks have been full of milestones for her! She loves playing peek-a-boo and really gets into it now...she will try to climb over the edge of the bed, couch, around the door, wherever we are playing to see where we went. She will crawl all over us when she is laying in bed...I think it is impossible for her to sit still-a trait that definitely comes from me:) Haha! And we officially have a CRAWLER! We were sure she was just going to go straight to walking, but once she got the hang of it, she just couldn't be stopped. She is all over the place now! She finally found where the real toys are and I told Kenny it was only a matter of time until she found them-his dvds! She caught on to drinking out of a sippy cup really fast too! I put some apple juice in it and she loved it! She is eating more of the foods we eat and they might as well be pureed because Kenny and I think our daughter is incapable of chewing with the seven teeth she has! We are definitely first time parents when it comes to the size of foods she puts into her mouth. We are just paraniod, but I think we are getting better...(or at least I am! Shhh, don't tell Kenny I said that haha!) She finally claps while I clap too. Before, she would clap then I would clap and say "yay" then she would stop. So I would stop then she would start again. She laughs almost hysterically when we kiss her neck, screams when she sees Winnie, and smiles at the sight of her daddy walking in the door from work. She is just so awesome and we can't get enough of her...Everything she does is so cute and special. Me and Kenny often ask each other "is it time for another?" (Calm down you crazy grandparents-not quite yet!) On Tuesday she had her 9 month check up and she is growing great! She weighs almost 21 pounds and she is 28" long. I think she is familiar with the doctor's office now because as soon as the nurse came in she started to cry. Then again when the doctor came in and stopped for a second when he started talking to her. I think his strong accent threw her off because she was looking at him like, "whoa, you sound a little different!" Lol She is still cruising all around in her walker and loves it. Especially when we chase her down the hallway. She gets a serious look on her face and her arms shoot up like a superhero followed by her "running" on her tippy toes! It is so funny! She always goes straight into the kitchen and pulls off the dish towel hanging on the oven when we put her in her walker and carries it around. She also will go to the back door and pull the curtain over her and it makes Angus crazy when he is out back looking through! It almost seems as if she is playing peek-a-boo with him! I know I might sound repetitive when it comes to blogging so I am sorry if I have already shared some of this, but thank you if you are still reading!

As for me and Kenny...we're still the same "obssessed over our perfect little girl parents" and trying to savor every second we have with her! Kenny actually went camping last weekend and had a great time! He went with his dad, brothers, uncle and our friend Jake! Peyton and I missed him terribly, but it was only two nights and we stayed busy to make the time pass. Friday, P and I went to Hailey's softball game that night, then went back to my parents for pizza. Saturday, we went to lunch, at Chili's with Kenny's mom, his younger brother's girlfriend, and his older brother's fiance. After lunch we headed to his Aunt's gold party. I actually found some gold jewelry that morning in a pile of stuff that I was going to give to Goodwill. Luckily I had not taken it yet because I got $35! I only had a heart locket, 2 bracelets, and a small gold chain. After the party, we went to Yogurt Jungle-highly recommended by the way! I don't know if Queen Creek is the only location, but you should look into it and go! We had a great time with each other and I am so happy that we had some girl time! That night, we Peyton and I stayed in. However, I believe I got food poisoning from Chili's and puked all night! It was awful because at one point Peyton woke up and was crying. I didn't want to get her just in case it was the flu. She finally fell back to sleep and the next morning I took her to my parents and got some sleep! Of all weekends for Kenny to leave, of course I needed him home the most! I forgot what it was like to throw up because it has been probably 6 years for me! The last time was when I got my wisdom teeth out and that was before we were married! Ugh, it sucks! Anyway, I slept it off and was great when I woke up! We are so lucky to live close to out families not only are we able to just drop in anytime and it's not out of the way, but for times like this too. I was thinking how it would be of we lived out of state and had no one to help us when things like this come up. For that, we are so grateful! Besides, who wouldn't wanna hang out with this little peach! At the Doctor's office...Poor thing was so scared:(Awake from my nap and ready to party! You can see behind her all the dish towels on the ground that she pulls off and leaves for me to pick up! HahaHere are a couple pictures of Peyton swinging at the park on Easter Sunday! Thanks Jen!

Peyton's 1st Easter Celebration!

Here we were a year ago...Now look at our little family!(Yes, I know, I need to do something about that farmer's tan! Haha)We had such a great Easter! We were planning on going quad-riding Sunday with my family so we actually celebrated Easter Saturday evening with Kenny's family. The only bummer was that we were going to miss seeing the rest of Kenny's family at the park on Easter Sunday. Well, we ended up not going quad-riding and celebrated at my parents instead, but it worked out well since we were able to go to the park after all! We had a great time, as usual, but I didn't take any pictures! Peyton went on the swings, but I will have to get those pictured from Kenny's cousin...Yes Jen, YOU! Haha! After the park we went to my parents' and Peyton made out like a bandit with all her Easter baskets! She got snacks, toys, books, stuffed animals, clothes and I think four or five "big girl" cups. Even though this little girl only got about two 20-minute power naps in the truck, she was a trooper all day!Saturday evening, Kenny and I colored Easter eggs. Kenny made one for me-the one on the left...He put a football sticker and a little chick because I like the little chick from Wonderpets! Haha-I thought that was really cute! We had to write with a black sharpie because we didn't read the directions to know we were supposed to write with the magic crayon before coloring the egg:) That's ok, it was fun and they still turned out cute!
See ya next week for my 9 month update!
