It's a GIRL!
We were actually a little bit further along than what the first doctor said! Our first appointment, we were scheduled with another doctor in the office-they like us to meet with each doctor just in case mine isn't on call when I go into labor. This doctor thought at this time I was about 8 weeks. We had our next appointment Wednesday (which would put me at 12 weeks now) with my regular doctor and he thought I was a little further along than what the first doctor said. At this appointment, we actually heard the heartbeat for the first time! My doctor thought I was more like 16 so he scheduled an ultrasound for Saturday. We went in only expecting to find out exactly how far along I was. When the guy asked if we wanted to get it on dvd, we told him we were gonna wait until we could find out what it is and he said, "well I am gonna tell you what it is today!" We looked at eachother in shock! It didn't even take Kenny a second before he said "YEAH, WE WANT IT RECORDED!" He went through all the measurements of the head, abdomen, legs, and checked the heart, the spinal cord, and everything else and reassured us that everything was "perfect." Which made us so happy! Then he told us that it was a girl! He told us in a really cool way though! We got it all on dvd and little did we know that it was recording our voices too! So you can hear our reaction when he told us! He was really cool! We really didn't care one way or the other, just as long as we had a healthy baby. However, maybe I would have been like this anyway if it was a little boy, but I am so happy that it is a little girl! There is just something about seeing a man with a beautiful little baby girl...I think daughters bring out the best in a daddy and I can't wait to see Kenny with her! She was moving all around in my belly though and she would not keep her arms away from her face. Her little legs were crossed and you could see both of her feet. She actually looked like she was smiling too:) Ahh I love her so much it makes me cry just thinking about how long I have to wait to hold her!!! This last month and a half has gone by so fast though! But I love the fact that we have only had to wait such a short time before finding out what we are having! Now we can start planning everything! I can't wait! Kenny is already worried though about her being a freshman and getting asked to prom by a senior:) We will definitely be updating our blog more often now:)!

Kara!! A little girl? I'm SO excited! I want an invite to that baby shower:) Congratulations! 16 weeks already I can't believe that! In one more month you will be halfway thru your pregnancy! Knowing you those boy clothes you got for Christmas will STILL be put on that lil' girl :) I remember your tomboy days like they were yesterday! So have you thought of any names at all? When I finally decide to have another baby I hope it's a girl! Anyways, you will come to find throughout your pregnancy that a lot of Dr's really are ding-dongs. Don't do everything they say. Listen, but then do what YOU think is best.I hope you have a GREAT experience with the rest of your pregnancy and labor and delivery. I love you guys! She is gonna be a HOTTIE! Sorry this is so long.
P.S. If you're already crying you're gonna be a MESS when she's born! I remember rocking Ryder to sleep and I would just start crying right in the middle of singing. Babies are the best!
Congratulations you guys! Sorry I didn't get to tell you before we left! Can't wait to catch up with you when we get back so you can tell me all about it! :)
So exciting! Girls are fun...and she will be beautiful. I can't wait to see her! Congratulations!
